Bevan McKinnon is an Elite level Triathlete having competed at the World Champs at Olympic, Long Course and Ironman distances. Bevan is a previous winner of the Taupo Half Ironman and has numerous top 10 placings in international iron distance triathlons including 2 podium finishes this year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bevan is a qualified personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach and is also a certified member of the NZ Register of Exercise Professionals (REP'S).

Bevan's qualifications also include TriNZ Level 1 and 2 accreditation and he has recently been recognised by TriNZ as one of New Zealand's developing coaches.  He has been selected, along with only 2 other NZ based coaches, to undertake the LEVEL 3 accreditation program.

BEVAN'S APPROACH TO COACHING

Bevan has over 15 years experience of coaching individuals in swimming, cycling, running and triathlon.  In that time he has worked with a range of athletes from complete first-timers through to elite professionals competing on a world stage.  Having coached and been coached himself Bevan understands the importance of being not only knowledgeable but also accessible.  To ensure this happens Bevan limits the numbers on his coaching roster in order for him to be able to personally know each athlete's life situation, needs, and aspirations.  Each program is individually tailored, monitored and adjusted, if needed, based on an athlete's progress along the way.

Bevan currently has athletes training for their first triathlon, ITU olympic distance events, half ironman and iron distance triathlons.   He offers a variety of coaching options ranging from on-line programming through to one-on-one and group training sessions and swim squads.  Bevan and his athletes will be in attendance at all major races in NZ this season.  Contact him (below) should you wish to join his training group.
